About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have a daughter, Aurora, born March 2015. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. xxxx

Boxes

Good Morning All
Here are a couple of boxes I have made to put into the local bar and shop, they both sell jewelry so wanted boxes for customers to buy.

This is a tiny dinky one, suitable for a ring!!!

This one is about 4"
A triangle shape.

I have used bits from stash to decorate them both.

These orange flowers were on a swap I received.

Quick Cards

Good Morning All
At our craft club on Friday I took with me some A6 embossing folders, card blanks, Phills corner stamps and ink pad and some of my little butterflies I have been making.
These are the cards I made.  My friend Lin was so amazed at how many I made, a grand total of sixteen.  All I had to do when I got home was to add inserts and bag them up.

I stamped the corner sentiment first.

Then ran through the emboss folder.

Added gems or pearls to some of them
and then the  Butterflies.

The blue one below I had to turn upside down as the stamping went wrong and I cant throw it out, have to use it one way or another.

So sixteen for the Charity box, quick and easy.
Will have to think along the same lines for next Friday but use another theme.

New Blanket for Noah

Good Morning All
I was asked by Megan if I would knit/crochet another blanket for Noah, just like this one HERE.
She washed the other one too hot!!!!

Abit different from the first one but still very happy with it.  It is very soft and I only bought the wool in a local China shop, so quite inexpensive.

Making another now in lemon, mint and white as Lee and Megan are expecting another baby in September.

Val C's Birthday Card

Good Morning All
As promised, here is the other Val's card.
Pixie powder on acetate
How different do these two pics look, show how much of a difference the light and the background make.
On this one, the Red Lava and Firework Burst really show.
I double heat embossed the butterflies with Holographic powder.

This one looks more purple / blue.
I added pearls to the butterflies and some trailing pearls from Zsa Zsa Creations

Anyway, Val loved it and that is all that matters.

She said her Hubby kept touching these butterflies, he was quite amazed at the technique used.

The butterflies I cut from the Pixie Powder Acetate will be used on a card in the future.

Also found out it was Johns Next Doors Mums birthday on 14th Feb too.

Thanks Veonnifer

Good Morning All
I keep mentioning the swaps I make or receive within a group on Facebook, well here is afew cards I have made using some Shaker Mason Jars sent to me from the very talented Veonnifer.
HERE is the post where I showed all that was in the swap.

All I had to do was decide which paper matched with the Mason Jar and mat and layered onto a card base.
Added a sentiment and I did not think they needed any other embellishments.

Busy making lots of cards, boxes and altered items as I have been approached by another place in the village that would like to show them.
And  my charity lady called last week and wanted another batch of cards for a fundraiser, I usually give her 50 assorted ones,
so busy busy busy.
How did I ever find time to work!!!!!!

Anything Goes for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All
Craft Rocket Challenge this time is a nice easy Anything Goes.
I used Sissix Iron Gate die.
John Lockwood Nasturtium Everyday Elements Stamp with White Emboss Powder.
Ribbon, stick pins and parchment punched flowers.
A new technique (for me) for the backing (see below) (I may have blogged this before !!!!!!)

I saw Julia Watts on Hochanda back in December and as soon as I saw her do this technique I had to  dash into my craft room to try it.
She spread Cosmic Shimmer glue on a piece of acetate, added Pixie Powders and some glitter then backed it with scrunched up tissue paper.
This is a sheet using different colours of Pixies and glitters.

Back later for another post.
