About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Tulips

Good Evening All
A quick post before I go to bed.  Shopping trip to Ikea was a success and I got some brackets for my craft room to put on the wall, which hold little plastic buckets and baskets that can be removed and swapped around.  I thought I could put bits & bobs in them.  Will have to get the drill out tomorrow!!!!!!!

Soft & Sentimental

Good Morning All

Going off shopping to Ikea today with 2 of my neighbours.  I want to buy some deep picture frames to put some of my parchment cards in, to put on the wall in the hall.  Ordinary frames are no good as there are flowers on so they are quite thick, if you  know what I mean.  I have a lovely one with `Welcome` embossed on it, I will post on here when framed.

Anyway, back to today.  I have made this card using some free papers that came with a magazine and they are gorgeous.  I have used some before but this card is made  totally from them.  The sentiment reads - May Love, Happiness & Joy surround you today` isn,t that lovely?

Fairy

Good Evening All
My card for today is from a pack from PaperMania `Enchanted Fairies of Little Venice`.
I was lucky enough to be featured as Star Letter in Creativity Magazine for March and as such I received £50 of goodies.  They were sent to my sisters address in the UK and when Mum arrived last week she brought them with her.  Wow, it was like Christmas arriving early, all that stash to play with.  There were afew of these packs of diecut decoupage so I have been making quite afew cards for my charities and this is one of my favourites.
Once again it is an easel card
Papers are `Hot off the Press` Soft Nostalia
Punched flowers inked in shades of brown, with gems at the centre

Envelope

Good Morning all
Hope you had a lovely weekend.  We managed to get out a little with Mothers but my Mum doesn,t walk very well so it,s difficult.  We are going to a lovely place after lunch called `Lo Pagan`.  It is on the coast and there is a walk way that cuts through the sea and on one side people go in for a mud bath , they plaster themselves in the mud (which stinks) at the sides of the water, then let it dry and then wash off and swim in the other side.  It is meant to be very theraputic.

Onto crafting- I made this over the weekend, I was just fiddling about and wanted to do something a little different.

It is just something for abit of a change.  I stuck butterflies and ladybirds (mariquita in Spanish, isn,t that a lovely word) inside the litlle concertina book inside.  Heat embossed a Forever Friends image on the black but you cant see it  very well on Pic.  I threaded ribbon through to keep it all fastened together.  Once again I used the Marianne flower dies on hand made paper with gems for centres.

Good evening all
I completed this card afew days ago and I think it looks pretty cute.

It is another easel one but twisted.  An A6 deckled edge card blank, scored diagonally.  Pink card cut just slightly smaller than the A6 front.  Flowers are hand made paper die cut with Marrianne flower dies with a blingy gem for the centres.  Tiny pearls on the corners of the peeloffs.

Quad Easel Card

Good Afternoon all

Hope all is well with you all.
Todays card is a quad easel, looks very complicated but good.  I made this a while ago following written instructions in a magazine and the papers are from Making Cards Mag. Christina has just put a tutorial on website Card Making Magic.

It is far from perfect but I just wanted to show it to you and when I saw Christinas post,  I thought I would show you mine.  I know her tutorials are exceptional.

I,m not sure about giving this to anyone as I wouldn,t know how to explain to them how to stand it up.!!!!!!

Hugs to all.

Criss Cross Card

Good Afternoon all
Just got back from Guadamar (a town near us) with John and Mothers.  Golly, it,s hard work pushing a wheelchair, I had to leave them on the promonade and walk back to get the car as it was up hill and there was no way I was going to push the chair up them there hills.

On to todays card, it is one I have seen afew times and thought it looked really nice.  The demo I saw was from Card Making Magic.com and Christina taped it closed but I thought it would be nice left so that you could stand it up, or tie a ribbon round etc.  There are loads of possibilities of how to finish it off.
The base card is a lovley shade of brown with faux stitching round the edges with Promarkers fine tipped black pen (hard to see).
I put a silver tag on the band that goes round the card along with checked ribbon.  The flowers are made using my new Marrianne flowers dies with pearls and gems inside. The flowers are cut from some handmade paperthat was given to me and thought it would make lovely flowers). Paper from a new pad of Forever Friends 6 x 6 pad (part of a stash sent to me for having the STAR letter printed in Docrafts Creativity  Magazine last month).  The inside card is just 2 pieces from my stash with a peeloff sentiment added and lace stuck underneath it (you cant see it very well on the pic)Again sorry

I will definately be trying this style again and in many different ways too.

Past Times

Good Morning all.

Both Johns and my Mothers arrived last night so I may not be posting as regularly as usual, but we will see.

Todays card is not my usual style but we all have to make `male` cards sometimes.
I was lucky enough to win a challenge over at Crafty Anns Challenge blog afew weeks ago and this was one of the digis I chose.  The reason being - to make me do some `male` cards.
This is an A6 white card blank - I cut the front diagonally in half and used a black and white print paper for the insert.  Coloured the digis with my Promarkers and just added afew gems and sentiments.

Circle Card

Good Afternoon all

My card today is a circle. I,ve made it for afew challenges I enter regularly.

I folded an A4 sheet of Pearlpale pink card, then drew a circle with my compass with a diameter of just under 6".  (Gosh, this is taking me back to my school days - what with compasses and diameters).  A Forever Friends peeloff stuck onto pink card and cut edges with scalloped scissors.  Put fancy white and silver doily inderneath edges and then just went to town on my embellishments - foam `Love` and ducks - Pin made from jewellery stash - die cut flowers from my NEW Marrianne dies - afew pearls - peeloff round the edge.

I would also like to thank my new followers too.

Tulips are (I think a freebie digi) coloured with Promarkers mounted onto pink card and 2 gems added to corners

Male Theme

Good Morning All
Sorry I missed yesterday but I went out for the day with my neighbour, Susie.  We went to a local market in the morning because I needed some more wool to finish my sons, babies shawl, I am crocheting one for them.  Also, there is a thread on Docrafts forum requesting hats and other bits for premature babies.  As you will know if you have read my intro, this is something very close to my heart, so I will be doing some of those when I have finished the shawl.

This is abit different for me because I like doing pretty and female themes.  This is a digi from Crafty Anns store `Josh playing guitar` coloured with Promarkers, mounted onto a 5 x 7" blank.  Backing papers are all from stash - black & white music notes matted onto gold mirri card and the star papers were given free with Cardmaking Mag.  Peeloffs added - the dots are all from the waste of a peeloff sheet (I dont like to waste anything, I lways keep my sheets and use the odd little bits to put on corners etc)This will be added to the charity box for one of my ladies to use as neither of my Sons plays guitar!!!

White

Good Morning All
I,ll do this post this morning before I have to go and revise my Spanish for our lesson after lunch.  Learning seems to get harder as you get older, or it seems that way to me.

I have followed a theme for afew challenges I want to enter with this one. One is white on White and another is a sketch so I will try to explain what I have done because the embossing does not show very well.
Base card is a 5 x 7 white blank and I embossed 3 rectangles with my Cuttlebug with different patterns (tiny flowers and dots).  Then I cut 2 edges with an EK Border punch.  Cut 2 flourishes  with CB.  Tilda is holding an umbrella to protect her from the spring / April showers.  Just to give it a little bling I added blue gems to some corners and a white sating ribbon bow at the top.

Plain & Simple

Good Morning all
It is such a gorgeous morning here today, not a cloud in the sky.  Outside my front window(my craft room) there is a carpet of beautiful deep pink flowers that are only around for afew weeks, they are a type of succulent, the leaves are very fleshy.

Now for todays card - it is another Forever Friend stamped and heat embossed onto white card then layed onto black.  I mounted it onto a FF card blank and chalked the tiny stars with a gold colour then sprayed with hairspray to hold it.

Added a `With Love` sentiment to keep it clean and simple.

Tag

Good Evening all

Today I made a tag using a gorgeous freebie from Astrid Artistic Efforts blog.  She has some amazingly gorgeous freebies on her blog, she is one talented and generous lady.
I printed her sheet off and used one tag and one butterfly and decorated it with my own flowers and die cut swirls.  Ribbon and gems and bits off a peeloff sheet were added to bling it up.   I know tags are quite fashionable at the moment - over on Docrafts there is a tag swap.

I will use this to put on a card but I think it looks really good.  Let me know what you all think please.

More Teddy

Good morning all
I hope you are all having a good Easter so far.  We wont be doing much, John is still recovering from a bout of gout so is finding it hard to get around, so I think we will be having a quiet weekend.

Todays card is another Teddy and more flowers - quilled (even though you cant see some of the black ones in the bottom right hand corner )
It is mainly Black and White, I just added a pale blue ribbon diagonally across the front to blend in with the blue flowers.  Blue gems and blue pearls on wire from my jewellery stash.  The image is a Forever Friends stamped onto black card and heat embossed with gold powder, then mounted onto pale blue card.

Teddies

Good Afternoon all

Happy Good Friday

If you follow me regularly, you will know that my one of my favourite things is teddies (the other being butterflies).  I bought alot of Forever Friends items a while ago and I am still ploughing my way through them on and off.  Another thing I love is decoupage and making flowers (tomorrows card has lots of flowers on it, just waiting for the glue to dry).  This card I have made for Forever Friends Challenge (amongst others).

I cut an A6 size card from pearlised lilac card, dry embossed the lower edge using a Glitter girls board and cut the front a little shorter to show the gorgeous pastel coloured lace ribbon.  FF decoupage Baby with ABC bricks.  Die cut a label from hammered cream card, inked the edges with purple ink and stamped balloons on it, again, with purple ink.  Added thin purple ribbon across the top with a tiny heart token `It,s a Girl`.  Finally stuck on a lilac plastic rattle, purple gems across the bottom embossed edge  and pearls at the top corners.  The sentiment reads `Congratulations`.

Cute Tilda

Good Morning All

I have been watching the news and you are having horrible weather in the UK.  I lived in Buxton about 7 years ago and I see they have got roads closed which is quite normal for them when it snows.  The clouds are with us here in Spain but I dont think they will have any snow in them!!!!!

Todays card is another sweet Tilda, they are all so cute it is hard to choose a fave.
Image cut out using a die cut, as are the leaves and butterflies.  The flowers are made from my MCS cd rom, I think these particular ones look really good.  Gems, ribbon and buttons from stash.

Male Card

Good Morning All

Just a quick post this morning as I am taking some neighbours to the airport to visit Ireland for Easter.

I made this card for any male in the family who enjoys footy, my John does, he is an avid footy and rugby fan.
Once again I have used a 5 x 7 white card blank, covered the front with a piece of A5 from a C &  C pack I bought years ago and used all Forever Friends stickers and peeloffs.  I kept to green to follow the green pitch colour.

Christmas Card

Hi again

I have had this in my parchment bag for ages and finally finished it.

The beauty of parchment is that you dont have to embellish it much at all.  This one, I mounted on to pearlised green card and added afew peeloffs and a sentiment and thats it.

Summer time

Good Morning All

The weather here is a little dull and overcast today but, Heyho, we mustn,t moan.  I,m going to meet a lady after lunch to give her some cards for her charity (another animal one), this is the first time I have supplied her so I hope she likes them.

This is todays card.  It is for a challenge themed on a summer time activity.
It is Faye Whittaker stamp `All our Yesterdays`
i have coloured it with Promarkers and matted and layed onto bright yellow and orange card.  Punched 3 balloons from the same card and added a couple of buttons to the corner.  The sentiment is a Forever Friends peeloff.

Dad

Morning again,

I thought I would show you this card because it is a little unusual, but I think it is very effective.  It was an idea I saw in a mag (I think it was Making Cards, an old one) it showed one for Dad and one for Son.  I thought this one would either be good for Fathers Day or a Birthday.  Unfortunately, my Dad is no longer with us, so I shall be putting this card , along with the others, to go to the charity.
DAD is cut out from 12 x 12 paper pad I bought in the USA years ago and the lovely silver hearts on navy paper is from a box of A5 mixed I bought from Creat & Craft, again, a long time ago.

Good Morning all
Happy April Fools Day.
Here is a card I,ve made to keep in stock.
Yet another easel  using a green 5 x 7 base card - a lovely image of a little boy huddled up on a big armchair.  All coloured with Promarkers and papers were free in a mag and sentiment printed off on computer and cut with a circle punch and mounted on green card to match the paper.
