About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Use A Sentiment for Crafty Friends

Good Morning Again
Second post from me today as two challenges start on the same day !!!!
Crafty Friends Challenge this time is 'Use A Sentiment'.
Well I used Two, but I couldn't tell you where they came from, I just keep a load of printed sentiments in a box ready to use as and when I need them.

The image is from the sponsor and ( confession coming up) I had coloured it and left it on my desk ready to use, then it fell upside down and I used it  as a matt to run through my embossing machine, so it was marked abit, and as I didn't want to print and colour again, I decided to emboss it with my Swiss dots embossing folder.
Looks Ok though.

Sponsor is Oddball Art Company
3 digis of their choice.

Re-cycle / Upcycle

Good Morning All
My first post today is for Allsorts Challenge DT.
Brenda wants to see recycled or upcycled creations, so I used a negative from a die cut, (I do keep most of them in a file box, just incase I NEED them)

I used this image from Scrappers Delight and mounted it onto a piece of white card  embossed with a Sheena embossing folder.
I added two circle sentiments from Scrappers Delight also.
Added a few gems and a ribbon fastened with a chequered brad, to reflect a chequered flag in a race.
Sponsor is Scrappers Delight

Beads

Good Morning All

This card is one I made a while ago and never blogged it as it is far from perfect.
A blog friend of mine, Janice from Created by Jan Blog features beads on some of her cards and they look gorgeous.  I thought I would have a go and this is my first attempt.

I need to keep practicing this type
of crafting me thinks!!!!

Have a good Day.
1 week and counting until Hollie Days.

Best Wishes

Good Morning All
I have been going through my photo file and have decided to show some older cards in order to tidy it up.

All mauves and purples.
I thought this was quite a pretty one using  a Marianne Emboss and Cut die.  The tiny ballerina charms are very sweet.
I added one of my pins to the ribbon.

Nine days and counting now until Hollie and her Mum And Dad arrive.
I,m like a child waiting for Christmas !!!!

Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Roses' set by Helene.
I found this gorgeous 'Roses' paper in my stash from The Works,  so decided to make that the focal point of my card. I added ribbon, bead pins and some paper and silk roses, and some butterflies cut from Centura Pearl card (cant see that very well ) using Marianne dies LR0158.

Anything Goes for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All
Creative Craft Cottage Challenge this time is Anything Goes, so that is a nice easy one for you if you want to enter.

Our sponsor is All Dressed Up and I used this great digi from them 'Cool Dude'.
I decided to make a twisted easel card as I haven't done one for a while.
Being a 'man' card I kept it quite simple, just added a star charm on some twine.

Memory Box Flowers

Good Morning All

First I have some links for yesterday's post, some have asked for.  If any of you do Facebook there are some groups on there for book folding and they have tutorials for 2 and 3 liner folds and some free patterns too, lots of helpful advice. One is called Crafty Hana's Book Folding
another is
Newbie Book Folding

********

When we  have our craft meeting on Fridays, if any of us has bought new dies or embossing folders, we always take them and let other use them.
When Val was undergoing her eye surgery, she had taken delivery of this gorgeous Memory Box Die, so I used it for afew days and cut out quite afew to use in the future and this is one of those.

It is so delicate and pretty so I kept it mono and fairly simple, just added afew butterflies punched from centura pearl card, a sentiment and a Cheery Lynn flower.

2 Liner on Book Folding

Good Morning All
I have done a couple of 2 liner on my Book Folding, this was my first one to practice.

The first pic is without any decoration and this one I have inked the first name, added afew flowers and ribbon.

Mandy and Andy are friends of ours and they run a business in our village selling cars, so this takes pride of place in their showroom.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Good Morning All

I was asked to make this card for a Golden Wedding Anniversary.

I added the names on the white heart at the back.
So easy to make but looks so effective.

The lady was very pleased with this one.

You can't go wrong with flowers and butterflies.

Christmas Decoration

Good Morning All
I made a decoration like this last year and I was telling some of the ladies in our craft meeting last Friday and they said they would like to see them and learn how to do them so here is one I have made this week.

I followed a tutorial on You Tube
but there are lots of them and they can be done with 5 pieces instead of 6 .
This is quite a large one, I used a 12 x 12 paper cut into 4 x 4 pieces, s the finished ornament is about 12 inches across.

Sweet 16

Good Morning All

Still on with the book folding.
This was a test pattern for a lady on Face Book, very pleased with how it turned out.
This is it before I decorated.

And this is it once I had added afew bits and backing paper.

I am into making these Kudusama flowers too
(the pointy one on top of the book)
HERE on You Tube
There are numerous ones but I just picked this one.

My local bar, where we do our craft meet, has cleared a shelf for me to display some of my books, so hopefully, I may sell afew or get orders.

Inspired by Summer Colours

Good Morning All
The challenge this week for Allsorts has been set by Tracy and is Inspired by Summer colours (Images, Sentiments, etc)

I decided to use this lovely Faye Whittaker decoupage image from Joanna sheen, as is the ribbon.  Lovely bright colours, reds, yellows and greens.  It is a sweet image I think and very reminiscent of summer, a little girl watering the sunflowers.
Pop over to the challenge blog to see what all the other DT have created.

Sponsor is Whimsy Stamps

A note I want to a add - My Grandson Lucas would have 6 years old today, God rest his soul.
You are in a better place.

Nanna thinks of you every single day. xxx

Snow In Summer

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge is 'Snow in Summer' and we would like to see
A Snowy Scene.

I dont do Christmas until around August or September but I did have this LOTV topper in my box.  I know you are probably thinking that it is now August, but I do my DT cards way ahead of time and this card was made a while ago.

The sparkle card is an old Christmas card, far too nice to throw away.  When people pass their used cards over to me, I cut the backs off them if they are plain and use them for matting and layering, which is what the  spotty embossed card is.
Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other DT's gorgeous makes.  We also are looking for some new DT members, so if you would like to apply, pop over to the challenge blog.

Quiet Book No. 2

Good Morning All
This is Quiet Book number 2 and this is for Noah and / or Aurora (when she is abit older).
Lots of pics coming up, some of the quality is not great so forgive me.

I decided to sew the pages in, instead of using rings and grommets.
And I sewed handles on, which I have since added to Hollies too.

This is the 'matching shapes' page.

Numbers and counting page with the correct count of buttons under each flap.

Get the socks out of the washing machine and match them to the correct colour on opposite page.

Farm Barn with finger puppets.

Counting the beads across the strings.

Matching colours and learning to fasten buttons.

Opening the zipper on the Ladybug, counting and ladybugs and shapes inside.

Alphabet.
Inside the pocket I put alphabet cards for each letter to teach reading, letters etc.

I really like this page.

Hope you like it and I,m sure the kids will.

Now onto the next one LOL.
I really do enjoy making these.
I will let you know how they enjoy them.
Hollie will get hers first when she visits in September.

Summer Crafting for Ladybug

Good Afternoon All
Blimey, three posts today, and this one is my DT for Ladybug Crafts.
Sorry it has worked out this way but I have tried to space them out.

Samantha wants your take on Summer Crafting, so, to me that really means anything so I chose this lovely paper from Marij Rahder 'Pot Pourri' with sunflowers.

The dies used were a freebie with my Cut N Boss called Classic Collection.  I used the corner die to make a frame.  The flowers were from my stash and I added gem centres.

Pop over to the challenge blog and have a go at this nice easy theme.

Movie Week

Good Morning All Again
My second post for today is for Crafty Friends Challenge Team 1,  and the theme is Movies.

I chose this sweet image and verse from Inky Impressions, one of our sponsors and obviously decided on
'Singing In The Rain'

I chose the embossing folder to look like raindrops.
Because I wanted to use the two images given to us I decided to make an easel card.

Good Morning All

I used lot of bits from my stash for this one.  Bead pins with pearl beads on. gems stuck in the middle of my flowers (left over from my craft day with John Next Door last year).
The darker pink is cut with Sissix Iron Gate die and the stamp form Hobby Art onto S/B scalloped Oval..

We have two sponsors this week
